Actually Really Nice

Other people may have some great memory about some hiking trip or something like that but mine is more simple. A memory that I will never forget is being down in Florida. I just remember standing where the docks meet the boardwalk looking out into the distance. There were no people around, just a few boats and miles upon miles of open water.  The calm water was creating tiny waves on the sand and rocks on the bank. A light breeze was in the air, with the soft smell of fresh rain. My mouth had a slight taste of salt from the ocean air.  Even though I was only standing there for a half hour, it seemed like a year. No phones going off, people talking, or the sound of cars driving past in the background - complete silence.  Almost like time stood still, like I was detached and just taking a break from the hectic world around it. And in that moment standing there, it seemed like the weight of the world was off my shoulders. I don’t know how to describe it but it was almost like my mind went empty.  I wasn’t worrying about things or thinking of anything that I need to do or that has to be done. It was just the simplest moment of my life, and it was nice.

Christmas With A Little Bit Of Salt I Guess

Well everyone has there story about how they found out that santa wasn't real. It's usualy filled with disapointment and maybe even some crying. (For those of you who must have really liked santa) But unlike other people I was never told that santa was actually real, so I never actually "believed" in santa. (I no some of you are thinking no way you making that up, everyone when they were a kid believed in santa) Well none of you grew up with a sister like mine.

If you knew my family, you would find that we're a little different. (But then again who doesn't think there family's a little off) But the thing about me growing up, is my older sister was and is to this day absolutly affraid of everything. (Ok not everything but a lot) She was the one who I guess you could say "ruined" the thought of santa for me. Since she is afraid of everything, during Christmas time when every little child would go to bed early in the hopes that santa would come early,(Or fast or something) Or even the stories of little kids trying to stay up all night so they could see santa for themselves, my sister would be sleeping with a bat. (And no, not a bat like a little stuffed animal bat, she would sleep with an actual baseball bat) The thought of some fat man coming into our house through the chimney to give us present scared her to no end. So to make her stop sleeping with a baseball bat my parents had to tell her that santa wasn't real so that she could actually sleep and not stay up all night ready to attach the man breaking into our house. (Yeah sounds weird, I no) In a way, now that I look back on it, she was right. Why would we want a fat man we don't no, coming into our house to give us presents? (Kinda sounds like a pedophile if you really think about it...just saying) So in my mind she was the only person who actually was thinking sainly.(What do you want kids to think it's ok for a man to come into your house when you are sleeping..no..scary and not good.) But anyways, becuase of her, when I was young my parents always told me that Christmas is inside of you and that we are all santa inside. In a way it was nice knowing this and I never had the moment when my heart was broken because the fat man wasn't real. So I guess I should thank my sister.

Salty About Student Parking Lot

Ok I no I haven't blogged for a long time but there hasn't been that much that has made me mad. This blog today is towards the underclass men of the student parking lot. (which is everyone other than the seniors) Well there aren't many rules about the student parking lot. People have smashed pumpkins and have tailgated in the parking lot, but there is one rule that you should no because its getting on peoples nerves. (yes, not just mine, I've talked to other people and it annoys them to) The one thing you need to no is at the end of the day when you're pulling out of the student parking lot DON'T STOP AT THE STOP SIGN. The guy standing there waiving you on isn't doing it because he wants an arm workout. He's there telling you that it is ok to go and that you'll be fine. There is clearly know one coming. Also, (maybe you don't realise it because you don't look in your rear view mirrors) but there are about a million cars lined up behind you wanting to get out as fast as possible. By you topping, it makes less people able to leave before the buses. Therefore we all behind you have to wait until all of the buses pass before we can leave to go home. (ok it's not that much time but it's still enough that it gets on your nerves it you have to be somewhere in a hurry) So PLEASE stop driving like a old person who can't see very well so that a bigger number of students can get out at one time. Thanks and don't worry you'll have to tell the underclassmen this next year.

Salty about money

Moneyyyyyyyyy!!!! It seems like every decision in life revolves around money. When you think of what job you want to be doing in the future, you think about how much money they make, how much food will cost, what clothes you can buy, and what house you want to live in. All of these thing revolve around money. Now, some people say you don't have to have money to be happy. Ok true, but to what point. If you have no money you will never get anything you've ever dreamt about, wouldn't that make you unhappy? To know that any dream you've had can never come true? I think your opinion on this subject comes from what side of the money train you're on. (and yes I said money train.. couldn't think of the right word) If you are someone who grew up without a lot of money, you look at rich people all your life and see how good they have it. How they don't seem to have a care in the world because no matter what they do they know that will end up being fine, never having to worry about bills or dreams and getting anything they've ever wanted. Everything just seems to come easier to them, so when looking at it from that point I understand, but I also understand the other side of things. People who have grown up with a considerable amount of money, just seeming to go through life without any purpose. They've gotten anything they ever wanted but inside are truly unhappy.(yeahh i don't understand that..but hey it happens) What else that kind of upsets me is how much things are starting to cost. It seems like every time you turn around the price of something has gone up. Things like gas that used to seem high are now outrageous. I hate to say it but in a way we depend on money, as sad as it sounds, to survive. (what a dissapointing realization)

Salty About WA in paper

Ok I really have a question. Why were we (West Allegheny) on the front page of the newspaper? Fine, recently we have been having some trouble with drugs and alcohol, but really the front page? ( not necessary) It makes us seem like we are the worst school around, when in reality we aren't at all. There are many other schools that have it ten times worse than we do. They even need metal detectors in the front of the school that the students need to walk through before they can enter the main part of the building, and they aren't on the front page. I also want to know who the person was who told the newspaper about how many, so called "issues" we are having. ( because I cant get rid of the feeling of me wanting to drop kick you in the face...sorry) The article also talks about how we are going to have drug sniffing dogs come in more often to the student parking lot and into the school. Also, people were even talking about the district drug testing the students who are in extra curricular activities....Question. Doesn't that cost a lot of money evey time you do any of those things? Because I feel like it does. If so great, just what we need, to put a butt ton of the district money into drug testings. We should put that money into something that we could actually use or need. Granted, I understand the frustration the district is having because some of the students make me angry as well. Why in the world do you have to bring drugs to school! What goes through your mind? (Hey I'm just gona bring some drugs to school today..hmmm..yeah sounds good..) No your wrong. At least do that stuff outside of school so that you don't get in more trouble here, because it makes us all look bad. But I love everyone at West A a lot!!!!! Lets just think a little more please.

Salty Eagle

Dear Market District,
Why are you so overwhelming?  It seems like no matter what time of the day you go, there are always a million people there. Finding a parking spot is also kind of a pain in the butt.  It seems like no one will let you out or in to a parking spot or turn in to find one. Also, there is always the danger of killing someone. Especially because people walk across the street without even looking causing you to slam on the breaks. (do you want to die, I don't get it? because I may get angry enough one day to just hit you because your txting on your phone or picking your nose.) The people that make me the most upset are the ones that walk down the aisle and then randomly stop, causing me to almost walk right into them. In my head I'm screaming (WHY DID U STOP YOU CRAZY) I also don't like that sometimes there are a million people there and you have to constantly have to dodge them and there overly stuff grocery cart. Oh and once your cart is full it's time to get a new one and not see how high of a mountain of food you can make before stuff falls out. Not cool. But I will say, that there food section of the store is awesome! Sushi all the time, equals heaven. It's like you can have any type of food from around the world right at your fingertips, and there are a million options on what to drink with your fabulous meal. So as frustrated as you make me Market District keep up the good work.
Sincerely,
The girl who only goes there for lunch.

Salty Day

For people who know me, know that I don't get upset very easily, but school is sucking the soul and life out of my body.  It seems like all the work that this great West Allegheny school district gives us is busy work.  Like they just throw information at us becuase they don't really have a set game plan set out for the week, there just winging it.Its like we could get their mail passed out to us because it's just random papers thrown together. (And I really don't think you want me to be paying your bills, that may turn out bad.) Some teachers don't realize that this absolutly kills us. WE HAVE OTHER CLASSES THAT ACTAULLY NEED STUDYING FOR. So stop giving us reandom work that doesn't mean anything because we have studying to do. O and a FYI the reason why we take the easy classes, or classes that don't really mean much to us is so that we either won't have to do any pointless work or so that we will have more time studing for the classes that that are very hard and need extra time studing for.  So thank you West A teachers that know there class is a blow off, for giving us work thats not worth the time.
